UNICEF Award winning Boltay Huroof is a Pakistani ICT registered company. We identified that no international Braille translation software is compatible for accurate translation in Urdu & other local languages; limiting braille resources for school, colleges & universities for the visually impaired countrywide. Currently, over 90% of visually impaired Pakistanis cannot access higher education due to the lack of available books, resulting in a staggering annual productivity loss of $3.2 billion in our country, made even drier during the pandemic.
To address these challenges and create an inclusive learning ecosystem by leveraging technological innovation and developing software that converts regional and international texts into Braille. Furthermore, we've introduced the concept of tactile graphics, revolutionizing the educational experience for visually impaired students in the field of science. The startup also converts text into Braille and provides documents to different organizations. Such as, translating original bank forms, contact cards and certificates into Braille.
We have won various competition-based grants such as GenU, Venture Cup Denmark Competition, Huawei ICT Competition, Startup World Cup, Entrepreneurship World Cup 2022 among many others. We have also secured pre-seed funding of PKR 7.5 million by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Moreover in 2024 we were not only selected in the HBL PSL9 Hamaray Heroes Awards, but were the Accessibility Partners at the events of both the British Council and US Embassy to make their events inclusive for everyone.
